The company came into existence on First day of April 2008, to exceed the customer’s expectations at every touch point, with an objective to provide the fastest means of transportation to the airport passengers (Domestic/International) & commuters of Delhi . With a compact belief in its value system, the company looks forward to execute Airport Metro Express Line Project. AMEL is a high speed express-line of approx. 22.65 kilometers, connecting New Delhi Railway Station to Dwarka Sector-21 through Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. There are in total 6 stations at New Delhi , Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, NH8, IGI & Dwarka-Sec 21. The Company on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) has been awarded the concession for Financing, Designing, Development, Procurement, Installation, Engineering, Testing, Commissioning, Operating and Maintenance of the Project for an epoch of 30 years. While DMRC, is into the execution of the civil structure work of the project for the stations along with the guide way structures (Tunnel and viaduct).

 

 

 

JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIPLOMA

Job Title

Train Operator, Station Controller, Asst. Station Controller, Communication Controller, Roaster/Asst Depot Controller and others related fields.

Job Function

Train Operator:

 

In charge of driving the metro train. Shall be single handedly responsible for taking all decisions on line in regard to driving of train in consultation with operation control centre and station controller. Responsible for safety of passengers and train.

Shall be working on a 24 hour basis in shifts.

·        Drives the train on automatic mode under normal operations clause unless intervened by the OCC for problems causing manual driving of trains which is described under the clause of ‘Degraded Operations’.

·        Acts swiftly and decisively to ensure that evacuations are controlled in the event that detrainment is  unavoidable.

 

Station Controller:

 

In charge operational systems at station. Shall co-ordinate the working of all station staff and station working. He is responsible for safe and uninterrupted working of all station systems. Shall work round the clock in shift duties. He is also required to drive the metro train in case of emergency.

 

·        Supervises the day to day operations of the station and ensures their safety and efficiency.

·        Co-ordinates with the OCC team at all times and directs the station support staff  including gate, line, revenue and platform  attendants as per the situation.

·        Takes instructions from the Chief Controller/OCC who has the overview of the entire system. In the event that the OCC must be evacuated or is otherwise rendered inoperable.

 

 

Asst Station Controller

 

Responsible for managing the passenger grievances, information systems and displays at station and web based facilities for customers in regard to train services, ticketing, baggage etc. His input is vital for customer profiling and customer satisfaction surveys.

  • Assists the Station Manager for safe and efficiently operations of the station.
  • Supervises the day to day operations of the station assistant, baggage handlers and station Cleaners.
  • Provides assistance in case of emergency situations, helping passengers getting off the trains, directing them to alternative transport and maintaining an awareness of track safety.
  • Adheres to the schedule of opening the stations prior to the first train, and close the station to passengers at the end of service is adhered.

 

He is responsible for proper upkeep of station premises.

 

Communication Controller:

Responsible for ensuring uninterrupted communication with internal staff and external agencies. Responsible for diagnosis of system faults and quick restoration of communication systems.

Roaster/ Asst Depot Controller

Responsible for ensuring crew rostering, training of crew, route learning and safety training of crew. This post involves shift working.

§         Prepares the base staff roster in consultation with the Station Managers and produce on a 4 weekly cycle and published to all relevant station staff.

§         Amends the  base rosters  (once the base roster has been issued) such as duty swaps, rest day swaps, short  notice annual leave etc after authorization from Traffic manager  with the variations clearly recorded on the base roster.

§         Takes the submissions from the staff wishing to swap duties among themselves on the appropriate form for change of duty signed from the Traffic Manager / Station Manager/Controller at least three working days in advance for approval.
