7. CONCLUSION

A dual frequency shared aperture 2×2 array antenna is designed, fabricated and tested. Measured performance of the antenna is as par with simulated performance except very low cross polarization of slot array at X-band. This array can be used as basic building block for a larger size array.

Balendu Kumar Pandey obtained BE degree in Electronics and Communication engineering from the DDU Gorakhpur University in 1999 and the ME degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University Kolkata in 2001. Currently he is working in Microwave Sensors Antenna Division of Antenna Systems Area as Scientist. Presently he is working on active microstrip phased array antennas, shaped beam high power microstrip antennas and multifrequency antennas for SAR applications.

Anil Kumar Pandey obtained BE degree in Electronics and Communication engineering from the Kumaon University of Nainital, India, in 2001 and the MTech degree in Microwave Engineering from the Institute of Technology at Varanasi (BHU), India, in 2003. Currently he is working in Microwave Sensors Antenna Division of Antenna Systems Area as Scientist. His research interests include numerical methods, and multi layer and multi-frequency microstrip antennas.

S B Chakrabarty obtained his BE (Hons) degree from Gauhati University in 1988, ME from a Jadavpur University in the year 1992 both in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and PhD degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the year 1996. He is deputy divisional Head, Microwave Sensors Antenna Division Antenna Systems Area, SpaceApplications Centre, Ahmedabad. His area of interest is computational Electromagnetics, Microwave and Millimeter wave Antennas.

Sanjeev Kulshreshta received his MTech Microwave Electronics from University of Delhi South Campus in 1992. He joined Space Applications Centre, ISRO in November 1993. Since then He is working for the design and development of state-of-the-art antennas for airborne and spaceborne applications. He is presently working as project Manager for disaster management SAR antenna. He is pursuing his research on multilayer printed antenna and feeding mechanism. His area of interest include computational electromagnetigs, active and high power antenna.

Anil L Solanki obtained his Diploma in Electronics from AVPT Institute, Rajkot, Gujarat State in March 1990. Since, last 6 years he has been working as a scientist in Microwave Sensors Antenna Division, Antenna Systems Area, Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad. Presently, he is mainly involved with the
development and characterization of various antennas and related components for Space-borne and Air-borne remote sensing applications.

Shashi Bhushan Sharma was born in Moradabad, India in 1947. He received BE in Electronics & Communication, ME in Microwave Engineering, both from the University of Roorkee in 1970 and 1972 respectively and PhD degree in Microwave Engineering in 1987 from Gujarat University. Dr Sharma has more than 32 years of academic and diversified research experience and 1 00 publications to his credit. He was honored in 1992 with Dr Vikram Sarabhai Research Award. Dr Sharma is presently Outstanding Scientist and Deputy Director, Antenna Systems Area (ASA), Space Application Center, ISRO, India.
