(Areas, Eligibility, Criteria, Evaluation & Procedure)

Description of Awards:

(a) 10th IETE-Corporate Awards for Performance Excellence in Computer & Telecommunication Systems - 2008 for excellence in engineering, manufacturing, export, R&D efforts and their commercial deployment, optimum utilization of appropriate technologies and management practices or other initiatives, that have resulted in accelerated growth in the country in the  field of Computer and Telecommunication Systems for the last 3 (three) years.

(b) 10th IETE-Corporate Award for Performance in Development of Software-2008 in recognition of outstanding performance and growth rates achieved by an organization / industry / association/ institution in the field of Development of Software  in the country during the last 3 (three) years through excellence in engineering problems & writing software solutions, optimum utilization of resources, sound management practices and other initiatives.

(c) 10th IETE-Corporate Award for Performance in Electronic Components-2008 for excellence in engineering, manufacturing, exports, R&D efforts and their commercial deployment, optimum utilization of appropriate technologies and management practices or other initiatives, that have resulted in accelerated growth in the country in the field of Electronic Components for the last 3 (three) years. 

(d) 3rd IETE-Corporate Award for Performance Excellence in Electronic Instruments and Instrumentation-2008 for excellence in engineering. manufacturing, exports, R&D efforts and their commercial deployment, optimum utilization of appropriate technologies and management practices or other initiatives, that have resulted in accelerated growth in the country in the field of Electronic Instruments and Instrumentation for the last 3 (three) years. 

Eligibility:
               The above awards are open to Institutions, Corporations and Organizations registered in India.

Criteria:
              The main criteria for evaluation will be: excellence  in engineering, outstanding growth rates in manufacturing, exports, R&D efforts and their commercial deployment, optimum utilization of appropriate technologies and management practices or other initiatives that have resulted in accelerated growth in the country in the above mentioned field over the past three years.

Evaluation:
             The nominations received are referred to Members of IETE Board of Recognition of Excellence (BoRE) and 3 experts in the respective field for evaluation. Selection of awardees' is based on the assessment and recommendations of the Members of the Board and 3 experts, the awardee for each award is selected on merit basis. The awards will be finalized by IETE Council in July 2008. The decision of IETE Council will be final.

Award:
            Each award consists of a citation and a memento. Awards will be presented at Annual Technical Convention of IETE in end September 2008.
