The affairs of the Institution are directed and managed by a Council comprising of 38 members elected from among the fellow members of the Institution. The term of a member is for a period of 3 years and seven members retire every year.
It comprises of:

	President
	Two immediate Past Presidents
	Twenty one elected ordinary members
	One Organizational Member (elected from the Org Members )

	Upto three distinguished professionals (nominated for a period of one year)
	Chairmen of upto Ten major Local Centres (Ex-officio)

The headquarters of the Institution located at New Delhi is headed by a Secretary General. Besides this, there are 57 Centres and sub-Centres established in major cities for undertaking the professional activities and furthering the aims and objectives of the Institution.
