MEMBERSHIP

• What are the different categories of IETE membership ?

 We have the following categories of membership-

Honorary Fellow                       HFIETE

Distinguished Fellow                  DFIETE

Fellow                                    FIETE

Member                                  MIETE

Associate Member                    AMIETE  

They are known as Corporate members

Besides this we have category  of Diploma members and Student members who can appear for AMIETE/Dip IETE examinations.

•   How do I process student membership form and what is the cost?

          For becoming Student member one has to purchase Syllabi priced Rs 250/- which contains complete details of examinations of AMIETE/DipIETE  and Student membership form which is to be filled and sent to us along with a draft of Rs 2525/- towards enrolment fee.

• My membership card is lost how do I get it again?

In case you have lost your membership Identity card, you have to send a draft of Rs 25/- along with the latest photograph for issue of duplicate Identity card.

•  What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in AMIETE/DIPIETE exams?

 Eligibility for:

 AMIETE:            Age not less than 16 years, 10 + 2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Maths and working experience in relevant field, OR studying for higher qualification in Physics/Electrical/Electronics/Computer subjects or Diploma holder.

DIPIETE:       Age not less than 14 years, 10^th or equivalent qualification with General Science and working experience in relevant field OR studying for higher qualification with Physics/Maths/Engineering.

• What is ISF ? How can this be formed?

 ISF is IETE Students Forum which can be formed for those students who are regularly studying at Engineering Colleges.

The minimum required membership strength for opening the IETE Students Forum in any Institution is 50, either Student (FG) or Student (FD)

The members of the IETE Students Forum shall pay the following one time membership fee for their membership while studying at the college/polytechnic

Student (FG)            Rs 300/- ( for 4 years)

Student(FD)            Rs 225/-(for 3 years)

•  What are the benefit of IETE membership?

 Note: Members who are senior citizen i.e. more than 65 years, do not have to pay registration charges for Seminar/Conference/Symposium/Convention at any of the Centres in India

PUBLICATIONS

• How can I subscribe for IETE journals? 

The subscription rate list is given in the IETE website. You can send a Demand Draft of relevant amount in favour of IETE payable at New Delhi.

• I want to know about IETE National Technical Paper contest?

IETE National Technical Paper Contest is open to IETE Student Members and Undergraduate Engineering Students in India. Papers are invited on any topic falling in the broad spectrum of : ELECTRONICS / TELECOMMUNICATIONS / COMPUTERS / IT, SOFTWARE INNOVATION AND RELATED SUBJECTS 

• Are there any awards for students?

The following awards are available to the students of IETE. 

• Academic awards for securing highest percentage  of marks, 60% and above and clearing the relevant section or complete  examination without exemption in the prescribed minimum period.
• Cash prizes of Rs 2500/, Rs 1500/ and Rs 1000/ for being amongst the first three position of IETE National Technical Paper Contest.
