Subject: IETE Awards-2008 -"Call for Nominations"

Dear Sir,

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers recognises outstanding contributions made by scientists and engineers in various fields through its coveted annual / biennial awards.

2. The process for IETE Awards-2008 commences with the "Call for Nominations". For the purpose of these awards, the nominators and nominees need not be members of IETE i.e. it is open to all except for the nominees for IETE- BR Batra Memorial Award (Sl No 2.13 of enclosed brochure). You are kindly requested to nominate suitable person(s) for IETE awards as per details given in the enclosed brochure at enclosure-1.

3. Please keep the following in mind while nominating:

a) One Nominator should not  nominate more than one nominee for the same IETE award. However, one nominator can nominee more than one nominees for different IETE awards and one nominee should not receive more than one IETE award in a year

b) Fresh nominations are to be re-submitted duly updated in case you feel that the earlier nominated person by you need reconsideration.

c) Both nominator and nominee, should ensure that the work of nominee is as per the field mentioned in the description of IETE award for which he / she is being nominated and he / she has not received any other national / international award for that work earlier.

d) The nominee should not have received any of the IETE awards during the last three years.

e) The upper age limit for IETE-IRSI(83) Young Scientist Award (Sl No 2.5(b) of enclosed brochure) is 35 years.

4. 15 copies of your nomination as per enclosed proforma placed at enclosure-2, may be sent to the following address so as to  reach the Chairman, Board of Recognition of Excellence (BoRE)  latest by 15th May 2008.
