IETE TECHNICAL REVIEW, Vol 23, No 4, 2006

  1. After the reviews, 2 hard copies of the accepted version of the paper along with original tracings, and files on CDs with the name and version of software used written on the disk label should be submitted. Please do not (i) import graphic files in your text file; (ii) send postscript files of text; and (iii) put files in page layout software like Pagemaker, MS-Word. It should be the complete responsibility of the author(s) to read the proof of the paper and to make sure that there are no spelling/symbol and other mistakes in the text. The author(s) would be fully responsible for any mistake which may appear in the final text.

  2. . Each paper should generally include the following components:

    1. Title, Author’s name, Affiliation, IETE membership status (if any) and details of the conference (if any) where the paper has been presented.

    2. Abstract: Each paper must be preceded by an abstract of not more than 150 words. The abstract should contain the scope of the work and the principal findings of the paper (abstracts are quoted ad verbatim in abstracting journals).

    3. Indexing terms: 3-6 key words describing the area of the paper, to help in classification.

    4. Text: The text should be divided into sections, each with a separate heading, normally beginning with ‘introduction’ and ending with ‘conclusion’.

    5. Mathematical symbols & notations should be clearly defined or described in the text following the use of symbol. As far as possible standard/commonly used symbols should be used. Abbreviations should be expanded at the first instance of their use.

    6. Latest references : References in the text should be given chronologically in the form [1] with the bibliographic details as listed below. All references listed at the end of manuscript should invariably be referred to in the text.

      For articles:

N D Kataria & Mukul Misra, Resonating techniques for the measurement of microwave surface impedance,
      IETE Journal of Research, vol 45, nos 3 & 4, pp 219-224, May-August 1999.

      For books:

R F Harrington, Time Harmonic Electromagnetic Fields, McGraw-Hill, New York, 1961, pp 11-12.

Note: Please underline the name of the Journal and the title of the book.

    7. Appendix: Lengthy mathematical analysis whose details are subordinate to the main theme should be
      put into the appendix.

  3. Particular care should be taken with mathematical scripts; they must conform to the standard requirements of publishers, and be presented in a form in which the author’s intentions regarding symbols etc are clear to a printer (who is not a mathematician). Greek letters, vectors (to be marked wavy underline or like A) and matrices should be clearly delineated. Mathematical expressions should be legibly typed, making distinction between characters likey, etc. Use of symbols ã, â ,a; may be avoided, unless absolutely essential. Square-root sign and fraction bar should be sparingly used. Thus, write

Repeated complicated expressions should be substituted by a symbol to save space and for elegance in
    style, e.g.,
