      The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading technical professional society established in the year 1953 and has over 45,000 members spread all over the country and abroad. IETE focuses on advancement of science and technology of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology and is playing an important role in manpower development to meet the need for expanding the industrial and R&D base necessary for the 21st Century.

      Institution has an Apex Forum which provides a platform for exchange of meaningful ideas amongst policy makers, industry leaders, leading academicians and eminent professionals. This activity started about 3 years back and since then Apex Forum Meetings have been organised on varied topics like Telecom Reforms; National Information Infrastructure; NTP-99; Broadcasting Policy Issues and others.

      The next IETE Apex forum meeting is being scheduled on "InformationTechnology, Computers & Telecom (ICT)" on 20 Dec 2000 at 1100 hours at IETE Local Centre, IETE Building, Bellary Road, Ganganagar Extn., Bangalore-560 032. You are requested to attend the meeting and give your valuable views and help in formulating the points for discussion by your presence. The number of participants is proposed to be restricted to 40-45 so that meaningful discussions can take place. Do kindly intimate if you will be able to join us.
